Available Chickens

Due to limited space, we are unable to accommodate all rehoming requests at this time. Below is a list of chickens whose owners have reached out for assistance in finding them new homes.

Please note, we do not help place or adopt to anyone who does not have a predator-proof setup, recently had their flock taken out by a predator and has not re-secured the area, those who rotate their flocks, those who use roosters for breeding or hatch eggs, rehome older hens who no longer lay, or kill these animals for any reason. If you are interested in a chicken below, please check out our ADOPTION page.

East Dummerston, VT - ROOSTER - Barred Plymouth Rock

UPDATE: HOME HAS BEEN FOUND!!

Looking for a charming and unique addition to your flock? Meet our handsome rooster,

purchased on April 23rd, 2023, and still awaiting his perfect match. This dashing fellow

sports a sleek appearance with no spurs, and while his vaccine status is unknown, he's

shown no signs of illness and is in perfect health. He's a bit cautious around humans but

warms up once he gets to know you, and his current owners have a clever way to enter

his enclosure without him getting too flustered. He's been a loyal companion to three hens

but is seeking a new home due to limited space. Despite his gentlemanly demeanor, he's

been caught pulling feathers off the hens' necks, likely a result of his desire for more feathered

companionship. Are you ready to welcome this charming rooster into your flock and give him

the love and space he deserves?

Stowe, VT - ROOSTER - Silkie

MEET WAFFLES (4/22/2024 posted)

UPDATE: HOME HAS BEEN FOUND!!

Waffles is a stunning silkie rooster located in Stowe, VT, born on October 1st, 2023.

He has a charming personality and has been around his female owner and

11-year-old daughter mostly, showing no signs of being reactive. Waffles loves

to peck buttons on his owner's bibs, and they are in love with him. He currently

lives with two other roosters and tends to pick on the hens, so he would do best

in a home where he can be the center of attention. Waffles has not been vaccinated

for Marek's disease. His current family, newer to VT, has never rehomed an animal

before and is looking for a private home where he can thrive. They have rescue dogs,

and most of their flock has been rehomed, so finding the right match for Waffles is

crucial. If your flock could use a handsome and charming addition, consider welcoming

Waffles into your home!

Westminster, VT - ROOSTER - Barnyard Mix

MEET Ozzy (4/22/2024 posted)

UPDATE: HOME HAS BEEN FOUND!!

Ozzy is a 2-year-old rooster located in Westminster, VT. He was hatched out from a

Rhode Island Red hen, though his clutch hatch mom was a bantam, and his dad is an

Easter Egger/Ameraucana mix. Ozzy has always done amazingly well with adults,

children, cats, dogs, and hens. However, this spring, he's been having conflicts, "beefing,"

with his father and recently went after their son. Because of this, his current family, who do

not have any means of transport, is looking for the right home for him. They describe him

as becoming too much in his first year for their bantam, so they are seeking a loving home

where his hormones won't make him feel like he has to fight for a place in a flock. If you

have the perfect flock for Ozzy, consider giving him a loving home where he can thrive!
