Rehoming Chickens

Rehoming a chicken can be a stressful experience, both for the chicken and the caregiver. It is essential to ensure the chicken is healthy and well-cared for during this transition.

Before considering rehoming, please make sure to explore all possible solutions to common issues in chicken keeping. Below are links to resources for common reasons chickens are rehomed.

Hens Who Are Bullies or Being Bullied

Reactive Roosters

City Ordinances

Rooster Picking on Hens

Too Many Roosters

Please note, we prioritize safety and well-being, and therefore, we do not support rotating flocks, rehoming hatched hens or roosters, and other situations we find do not line up with our mission. Additionally, we do not allow them to cross state lines during the rehoming process. If we are unable to take your chicken in, we will post them to our list and do the screening for you. Each chicken that is rehomed through our efforts will be in accordance with our mission and guidelines to ensure they find a suitable and loving home.
